12th of January: Homework: New vocabulary: Academic Vocabulary (p. 495) and Camp Harmony Vocabulary (p. 513)

Observation
Academic Vocabulary (p. 495):
Vocabulary word: Observation
Observation of human behavior is important to fit in, the alien noted thus he decided to spend his time sitting in the park and watching how humans act.

 Vocabulary word: Emphasize
Make-up to emphasize the eyes
Good speakers use structural patterns, such as repetition, to emphasize, or give importance to, their message. 

Vocabulary word: Reactions
A whole range of reactions, from whining and complaining to laughter, could be observed from the students when they heard of extra homework.

Vocabulary word: Define
She struggled to define the word to her foreign friend as she has yet to know what it meant.

Camp Harmony Vocabulary (p. 513)
Vocabulary word: Tersely
 Their teacher tersely explained the assignment to not waste the students' in-class working time.

Vocabulary word: Breach
A breach in the dam
The man knew that he could escape from prison through the breach in the wall that was caused by the bomb.

Vocabulary word:  Riveted
 The whole class was so riveted by their teacher's fascinating speech that they didn't even hear the bell ring.

Vocabulary word: Vigil
The mother was very sleepy as she had to keep a constant vigil over her baby girl even at night.
